WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?

"Gold-filled" is a USA industry standard that legally requires 1/20th, or 5% pure gold by weight.  The 5% gold in gold filled jewelry may not sound like a lot, but it's all on the exterior and it's enough to keep your jewelry looking shiny and bright for years.

It's a strictly regulated process that involves pressure bonding multiple layers of solid 14K gold with extreme heat, over a core of high quality jeweler's brass.  This results in a durable, 14K gold product.

The gold in 14K gold filled jewelry is real.  There's a layer of solid 14K gold on the outside of a brass core. 

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF GOLD FILLED?

Gold filled jewelry is more economical.  You will get the look and feel of real gold at a fraction of the cost!  It is durable and hard wearing and it will never tarnish like sterling silver.

Alma Rosa Jewelry only uses 14K gold filled wire for making hand fabricated ear wires and hoops, as well as 14K gold filled chain for making necklaces and bracelets.  All clasps and jump rings are also gold filled unless otherwise stated.  On occasion we use brass jump rings but (this will be noted in the product listing).

All of the Gold Filled wire and chain I use for Alma Rosa Jewelry is sourced from and made in the USA.

Our stud earrings use Titanium posts which are a medical grade ASTM approved finding.  These are also Made in the USA.
